Across Oxford North we will be building 480 new homes, of which a minimum of 35% will be affordable.
The first phase will be focussed on Canalside and delivered by the award-winning developer Hill Group.

Creating a New Community
The homes are designed for young and old, families and singles, all living together in Oxford’s new district.
Initially there’ll be around 318 homes. Of the 35% affordable tenure, 80% will be provided as Social Rental homes with a further 20% for Shared Ownership.
Leading by example, these homes will reduce carbon emissions by up to 75% over current regulations. How? Through a combination of improved building fabric and low and renewable technologies.

The Low Carbon Community
All homes, both flats and houses, will be heated with electricity. There are no gas-heated buildings.
Levels of carbon consumption will be better than national policy requirements by over 70%, so future proofing Canalside for all improvements in national policy.
And because it’s all our future, we’re exploring all options for energy-producing systems. For instance, photovoltaic panels, that further reduce carbon emissions.
